An oval Biedermeier-style side table in burl wood. The top is a dense field of figured grain, with dark eyes and tight swirls running edge to edge. It stands on a sculpted column over a shaped tripod platform with scrolled feet, and the frieze drawer still has its original turned brass knob. Burl was always the expensive choice and was cut thin as veneer. Ours has been laid with real care and polished to a deep honey colour.
