[SOLD] French Violin Bow Stamped “Paul Jombar” – Concert-Grade, From a Professional Violinist’s Collection

A superb French violin bow bearing the stamp “Paul Jombar”, a name closely associated with fine early 20th-century French bow making. Though the stamp is partially obscured by a protective leather grip, it is still visible upon close inspection. This bow is from the personal collection of a professional concert violinist, and has seen regular stage use—testament to both its reliability and tonal refinement.

Paul Jombar bows were often commissioned from the leading archetiers of the era, and this example reflects that high level of craftsmanship. Featuring a round stick of medium-brown pernambuco with excellent camber and elasticity, the bow delivers a refined, articulate response with superb balance across all strings. The ebony frog is fitted with a Parisian eye and silver mountings, while the adjuster is octagonal with ebony and silver inlay—classic hallmarks of French styling.

These bows were favored for their versatility and performance reliability, making them popular among professional players in both orchestral and solo settings.
