Stalking between the blossoms are four wonderfully naive golden oxen, the sort of motif that nods to Balkan and Anatolian folk pottery while staying gloriously its own creature.
It is signed on the reverse "Marianne Bussjager, handgemalt", and carries the Hutschenreuther Selb factory marks, the happy marriage of a serious German porcelain house and an artist with a free hand and a fearless palette.
