A proper little gem of Black Forest engineering, this Schatz Elexacta table clock is solid brass, gently faceted at the base, and built like it intends to outlast us all. The drum-shaped case glows with that warm, honeyed brass that only the 1960s seemed to get quite right, and the sunburst dial still keeps time with quiet German confidence. It arrives as a full set, original purchase receipt and paper tag included, which is exactly the sort of provenance that makes a collector sit up a little straighter.
Schatz of Triberg made some of the finest clocks to ever leave Germany, and the Elexacta line was their crisp, modern battery movement of the era. This one simply works. Pop it on a desk, a shelf, or a bedside table and let it do the one thing it has always done beautifully.
Styling & Collectors Inspiration
This is a piece that loves good company. Set it against the riot of colour in our 1960s West German Fat Lava ceramic vases for a fully committed mid-century vignette, or pair it with a single West German Fat Lava striped vase if you prefer restraint. Brass loves brass, so it sits handsomely beside our Art Deco brass wall bracket, and for warm evening light to flatter that golden case, our pair of brass table lamps with painted glass tulip shades finishes the scene. Collectors of German design and interior stylists chasing that lived-in, curated-not-bought look will both find a home for it.
